But how do you boost your mindset and encourage long-term gains? Here are five ways to consider.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Begin each day with a positive affirmation. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Affirmative statements can be a potent source of optimism and get you started on the right track each day. It prevents you from getting dominated by negative thoughts. In the mirror, talk to yourself and say statements like \u201cToday will be a good day\u201d or \u201cI prepared for today so well that I will do awesome at work\/school.\u201d You will be surprised at how much this helps improve your day and mindset.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Take advantage of humor. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s great value in finding humor in bad situations. Allow yourself to have a little smile &#8211; or laugh outright at the absurdity of it all &#8211; during a dark or trying time. Remind yourself: Will I still feel bad over this later on or just have a good laugh recalling it with others?\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Set small goals toward your success.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Sometimes it can be very easy to get stuck in the end goal or objective &#8211; and think about it all the time. How about setting small and actionable goals and then rewarding yourself once you achieve them? Here\u2019s one thing you can do: write a big goal. Under it, list down mini-goals that you want to target in order to make the Big Goal happen. Admit to yourself that not everything will go according to plan. This means you need to keep a healthy level of emotional fitness, where you\u2019re open to possibilities and making adjustments whenever necessary. If you\u2019re caught up in a sticky situation, then try to get advice you will value.
